Lisa Tyger

LISA TYGER
Director of Family Ministry

While studying English at Penn State, Lisa began working for Hoss’s Steak and Sea House, remaining with them for 16 years in management, store opening and training.

She moved to Pittsburgh in 1996 after marrying her husband Scott. They have called Beverly Heights their church home since 1998 and have raised their children Hannah and Isaac in this church family.

In 2004, Lisa joined the preschool staff and returned to college for a degree in child and family studies. She frequently reflected then: “Who has a job that begins every day with 18 smiling faces who are delighted to see you and can’t wait to hug you?”

After teaching in the preschool for seven years, Lisa was called in 2011 to serve as the Director of Ministry to Children where she quickly discovered that she enjoyed her work with the children’s families as much as she enjoyed the children.

As 2019 begins, she is embracing her new position as Director of Family Ministry: "When you are one of the fortunate few who are called to do what you love, you truly never work a day in your life. I still can’t believe this is the plan God has for me!”
