Adult Christian Education - Life in God: Formation through Reformation

A lesser known but important interest of the reformers, such as John Calvin, was a return of the church’s key formative practices to the laity, so that the church could be properly formed in Christ. More than just battles over doctrine, the Reformation of the 16th century was concerned with Christian discipleship, social patterns and embodied disciplines. That is why the Reformation was, among many things, an attempt to recover a vision of the church as a sacred city where worship had to do with a whole way of life under God.
