3. For the program “A Time to heal beyond survival” to continue to reach the women who have experienced the trauma of rape and sexual abuse.
4. For the Abstinence Education program to continue to expand, so that they can add additional schools in the coming year.

Brief History

Since 1990, the Pregnancy Resource Center of the South Hills (PRC) has been serving the communities of the South Hills, Washington County and surrounding areas. In a culture steeped in sexual activity, abortion, sexually transmitted diseases, and broken lives, they are reaching out with the love and transforming presence of Jesus Christ and seeing Him change lives.

Headed by executive director Patti Becker, with six staff members and 30 volunteers, the PRC serves approximately 70 clients each month. Their mission is to is to bring the Word of Life to every client, trusting in the power of God to restore the promise of hope and a future.

The PRC offers its services without cost, in order to ensure that they are available to anyone in need, without regard to gender, race, and socio-economic status or religious affiliation. Some of the FREE services offered at the PRC are:

 

§         Pregnancy testing and ultrasound

§         STD testing and treatment

§         Support service including baby furniture and clothing

§         Parenting and childbirth classes

§         Post-abortion and rape counseling

§         MESH—a young moms support group

§         Medical, legal, and financial referrals

§         Adoption referrals and counseling

§         “in the kNOw” education programs for private & public middle schools, high schools, youth organizations and parent groups

The “in the kNOw”  abstinence program is currently educating students in 42 public middle and high schools in Allegheny and Washington Counties.
