Brief Biography

David and Leah were both missionary kids in Africa. They were married at the New Wilmington Missionary Conference in 1980.  They have spent the last 26 years with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Australia, Kenya, and Mozambique, where they currently serve.

Wycliffe Bible Translators envisions that by the year 2025 a Bible translation project will be in progress for every people group where needed.

David and Leah have strategic support roles at Wycliffe that enable others to translate the Bible into new languages. Most recently, they have been serving in Nampula, Mozambique, where David managed the new office and training center and Leah ran the finance office. Dave and Leah are on furlough until April 2009. When they return to Africa they will be running the office and guesthouse in Kempton Park, South Africa. Even though they are taking a new assignment, their focus is still on their partnership with Mozambican churches in planning and decision making for Bible translation programs to bring the Word of God to those who have not yet heard.

On vacation, the Prestons and their extended family build churches in Africa every two years, in memory of "Christ's Globe Trotter", Leah's Dad, Ted Pollock who went to be with the Lord his
Savior March 9th, 2008.  The next church building project is planned for July 22 - August 24, 2010.

David and Leah have four grown children. Josh has served in the US Army and hopes to get out in April 2009. Nathan now works for Energizer as an engineer, Heather is at Cedarville University, and Becky, their youngest, is at Cornerstone University.
