Brief Biography

Rev. Daniel B. Gerhardt is an ordained minister of the PCUSA who served in Egypt for 5 years. He married Rhoda Rexford, the daughter of missionary parents in Ecuador, when pastoring a church in Yonkers. Together they served for 7 years in Costa Rica with Latin American Mission, where as a registered nurse, Rhoda served in a rural clinic and Daniel helped in pastors' conferences. They have lived in Miami for 20 years, where they have reached out to international students and befriended Muslim refugees, working with thousands of Muslims from Pakistan.

Their work includes writing and distributing books, tracts, and appropriate literature to Muslims. Rev. Gerhardt's books include the following three titles: Jesus Gives Peace: Jesus in the Quran and the Bible; The Momentous Sacrifice: Lessons from the Life of Abraham, the Imam to the Nations; and Who is the Christ of Prophesy? This last book lists 59 prophecies of the Old Testament and how Jesus of Nazareth fulfilled them. We are now distributing copies of the book to Muslims.  Dan teaches Sunday School classes entitled 'Toward Understanding your Muslim Neighbor.

Daniel and Rhoda work diligently at friendship evangelism. They make their first contact by greeting Muslims in the supermarkets. They seek to win Muslims using prayer. It is important to love Muslim people. They do not debate or argue with them.
