Brief Biography

Mary (Coltman) Crow’s parents were founding members of BHUP. As a young person she was already involved with missions in the church. After studies in dietetics, she went to Europe in 1966 to work with Operation Mobilization. (Her sister, Sally Livingstone, was a founding member of OM). In 1967 she met Colin, who came from England, as they worked together on a team with InterVarsity in Paris, France. Mary went to be with Jesus in August 2007.

After their marriage in 1969, they recognized the tremendous lack of evangelical witness in France (less than 1% Christians). They were convicted by the Lord to stay on as missionaries to help in church planting and pastoral ministry. Colin is still in Montpellier in southern France and has been leading a new church plant for the last 15 years. Colin works with the mission agency Christian Missions in Many Lands (CMML).

Colin's ministry exists to be a vehicle through which God will plant vital churches in France. He has envisioned self-sustaining, national-led congregations of French believers so that the unchurched in Montpellier will hear the Gospel and believe.

God has sent a national couple to take over pastoral responsibilities in the church in Montpellier. Colin is now a member of the national committee for their denomination—108 churches. In 2007 he accepted a new pastoral function: traveling throughout France to support and coach pastors and leadership teams, plus giving counsel. He continues to chair the Montpellier inter-church pastoral conference.

Colin chairs the missions sub-committee of the denomination for Madagascar. This involves raising some support for national workers in Madagascar, one of the poorest countries in the world, and setting up a program of visiting teachers for the Bible School. In collaboration with the Madagascar national committee, he also helps in a project to construct an orphanage for 102 children and find sponsors in the French churches for these children. The inauguration of the orphanage is scheduled for September 2009.

Colin has three married children and eleven grandchildren (9 in France and 2 in the USA).

"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!... Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:4 and 6
