Preschool Mission Statement

The Beverly Heights Christian Preschool exists to provide a distinctively Christian preschool experience. Our program introduces young children to God and His love through activities appropriate to their age, while preparing them for kindergarten. These activities are planned and carried out by qualified loving Christian teachers. We strive to provide a setting where children develop mentally, physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually, much as the child Jesus “increased in wisdom and in stature, and in favor with God and man.” (Luke 2:52)

Program
We have developed an integrated preschool curriculum. Each month, we focus on a theme that is educationally appropriate for preschoolers. Then, as we teach the theme, we relate it to God and His love and care for our children (i.e. in October our theme is “fall.” We teach about the changes that the earth experiences at this time of year, and about how God, who designed these changes, cares for us throughout all the seasons.) Throughout the playtime and the more structured circle and art times, children learn to take turns, follow simple directions and learn self- control. Our goal is to teach children about their world, and develop their mental, physical, emotional and social skills, while they learn about who God is and how much He loves them.  

Classes Offered

• Parent 2 class on Thursday mornings
• Tuesday/Thursday morning & afternoon classes for children who are 3 by 9/1/08
• Monday/Wednesday/Friday morning class for 4 year olds
• Older 4 year old class - 4 day afternoon class for children who are 5 by 12/31/08
  

Classroom Facilities
Most of our preschool classes meet in the lower level of the Beverly Heights Church.  The large, bright classroom contains shelves filled with stimulating toys, a writing table, a reading corner, a rice/water table, a kitchen and a dramatic dress-up area.  The Parent2 classes use church rooms on the mid-level.

Our lower level classrooms are protected by a security system which locks during classes.

We have a large closet filled with various educational toys that are placed on tables during each playtime.  In addition, we have an art room for easel painting and an exercise room that is equipped with big equipment for gross motor activity.  We use our playground when weather permits, and also play outside on a protected blacktop surface near our room.

Our Older-4s class includes a Kindermusic program taught by Kathy Morrison.
